The meaning of gear in WOW

I think in the game World of Warcraft, gear is necessary, but it's annoying as hell. Upgrading gear is fun while questing for WOW gold, but once you hit the level cap, it stops being "get better along the way" and becomes "grind something to get better gear". I understand that the constant nature of upgrading is how the game works, but getting new stuff from a quest feels significantly more rewarding (to me, anyway) than getting a random drop from a boss or turning in points for an upgrade.

Gear is transient; gear is temporary, transmog and no-longer-obtainable items and cheap WOW gold notwithstanding. Those are forever. Those are the grinds that are worth it to me. I'll always have the awesome mounts I've acquired over the past few weeks, while the gear I'm wearing now will be replaced with whatever comes next.

For me, gear is primarily for stats, while appearance still mattered. Prior to transmogrification, I had turned down plenty of upgrades in Burning Crusade that looked horrible. My Mage wears robes. I don't care if the vest from a quest reward is the next step up, it's a vest. Gear that doubles as a trophy to an event also matters. No one will argue that Thunderfury has stats that are worth anything today, but it's still impressive to have one. And gear which has been removed, especially if they were challenging to get in the day, is also impressive. I have gear in the bank I will never get rid of, because I like the look of it, or how I got it, or because of how hard it was to get. Gear does not just boil down to "stats" with me, with me tossing out everything once I get something better.

My 2 cents is... everyone that put time, effort, blood, sweat, WOW gold and tears to get the gear they have are role models to me. I may even being the last dps in the raid...but that just pushes me more so to keep going for the sweet rewards that follow. I love transmog just because I love to match and while leveling to the next cap in pve mode, I will alter the sometimes ugly gear to make me feel past accomplishments pushing me forward. All-n-all I applaud those who achieve great things threw hard work for I feel I am one of those few on my former raider hunter and got the full set of firelands gear, with 3 out of 5 herioc.

It is what I use as my transmog set. Plus the full set along with a cpl of rare drops makes the worgen hunter a fiery one. It means something to me because we worked our asses off to get some of those herioc bosses down without going to buy WOW gold. Rhyolith and Staghelm were the worst, for us.’that being said, I will not bemoan or begrudge anyone who goes back to firelands now and rofl-stomps any of those bosses. I have what I wanted, no reason to bitch at others for getting the same set now.
